Dune St. Andrews is now open!

Our sister venue, Dune, has now opened in St. Andrews. Think, loft style bar and restaurant, delivered with the usual Dean Banks pizzazz we all know and love.

Located on busy North Street, a short walk from Haar, this intimate venue has been wowing the good people of St. Andrews for a number of months now.

A closer look at the venue

Dune is split over two levels, the ground floor is home to their bar and a couple of smaller tables perfect for a quick cocktail or two. Their gantry stocks an impressive number of ingredients to make up those handcrafted cocktails.

Upstairs, you can find more cosy tables, with the mezzanine looking onto their iconic bar area – the perfect backdrop for those Instagram stories. This area is ideal for an evening enjoying some of their incredible cocktails, and some plates too.

At the back of the upstairs area, you can find their terrace, perfect for some al-fresco cocktails and dining. We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to be sipping on some signature serves while watching the sun set over St. Andrews this summer.

Their main offering is the incredible selection of cocktails on the menu, all served with a little theatre, of course. Let’s get into what you can expect.

Southern Sea Breeze:

Lustration Club:

Step into the realm of elegance with the Lustration Club cocktail. Our iconic Lunun Gin takes centre stage, accompanied by a burst of lemon and sugar, and finished with a raspberry espuma. Let the sweet foam and citrusy embrace whisk you away to a world of sophisticated indulgence.

Spoiled Spice:

Toasty Shack Negroni:

Our take on the classic cocktail, a homage to our friends at the Toasty Shack. This is a stirred masterpiece that redefines classic elegance. Toast-infused Lunun Gin meets Campari and rosso vermouth in a harmonious symphony of dryness, smoothness, and just a hint of toasty warmth.

The Dune Espresso:

Need a pick-me-up? Look no further than The Dune Espresso. Shaken to perfection, this blend of Mond Vodka, Cross Brew Liqueur, and espresso creates a bold, smooth concoction that delivers a powerful caffeine kick. Strong, coffee-infused, and oh-so-smooth.

Nana's Banoffee Coffee:

Spiced Black Cherry-Retto:

Embark on a journey of flavour with the Spiced Black Cherry-Retto cocktail. Shaken to perfection, this blend of amaretto, cherry syrup, and citrus tantalises the senses with almond undertones, fruity notes, and a tangy finish. It's a delightful twist on a classic favourite.

Smoking Hot Escort:

Ignite your senses with the Smoking Hot Escort. Shaken to perfection, this blend of Mond Vodka, vanilla, and passionfruit delivers an exotic burst of passionfruit and citrusy goodness. Allow this delight to escort you on a journey through some of our favourite flavours.

Guanciale Fat Washed Old Fashioned:

Experience the richness of the Guanciale Fat-Washed Old-Fashioned. This blend of Bulleit Rye Whisky, bitters, and demerara sugar is elevated by the umami essence of guanciale fat. It's a savoury delight that indulges the palate with a real depth and body.

King of the Old-Fashioned:

Bow down to cocktail royalty with the King of the Old-Fashioned cocktail. Stirred to perfection, this blend of Dalmore 18 YO, homemade bitters, and a touch of smoke delivers a regal experience. Strong, smooth, and infused with the essence of smoke. One for the real afficionados out there.

The Dulse Martini:

First seen on the menu of our sister restaurant, Dulse. Dive into the depths of flavour with The Dulse Martini. Stirred to perfection, this blend of seaweed infused Lunun Gin and vermouth creates a symphony that is both strong and balanced. It's an oceanic adventure in every sip.

What is a cocktail without something to eat alongside it. Dune’s delightful selection of bar snacks are the perfect accompaniment to their expertly crafted drinks.

Gordal Olives: Bold and briny Gordal olives are the perfect savoury snack.

Harissa Nuts: Fiery harissa-spiced nuts.

Cheese & Leek Bread: Savoury cheese and leek bread served with indulgent miso butter.

Scottish Oysters: Fresh Scottish oysters served with daily dressings offer an unforgettable taste of Scotland’s shores.

Tin of Caviar: Luxurious tin of caviar served with crisp croutons and creamy crème fraîche.

St Andrews Cheddar Gougere: Indulgent St Andrews cheddar gougere filled with creamy cheddar custard.

Octopus Hotdog: Our signature offering. Barbecued octopus hotdog finished with a tandoori spiced sauce and creamy yogurt.

Charcuterie Board: Lavish charcuterie board featuring meats, cheeses, bread, oils, and chutney for a delightful sharing experience.

 

Not forgetting, the delicious food.

Expect to see some iconic Dean Banks classics, with a few of Dune’s very own creations in there too. Let’s look at some of our favourites from the menu.

Trout Pastrami

Experience the exquisite harmony of delicate Scottish trout paired with crisp rye bread crackers, Katy Rodgers crème fraîche, and some pickled cucumber. The trout is marinated in a blend of salt and sugar to enhance its natural flavours, allowing for a tender, almost springy texture that tantalises the palate. This dish pays homage to the iconic Katz's deli with a unique Dulse twist, offering an authentic explosion of flavours and textures that is sure to become a firm favourite on the menu for years to come.

Octopus Hotdog

Their signature dish. A Dune classic that has been on the menu since day one. Tender octopus cooked over hot coals to ensure a perfect sear and smoky flavour. This is served inside a toasted artisan brioche and drizzled with a tandoori spiced curry sauce and cooling yogurt.

Mussel crumpet

A favourite from the Dulse menu, now available in St. Andrews. Tender Scottish mussels, cooked in the iconic moules marinière sauce. This is served atop a homemade crumpet, allowing for all that rich sauce to soak into it. A flavour explosion you won’t forget in a hurry.

Dune offer a set a la carte menu five days a week for both lunch and dinner. Lunch is £23pp for two courses and £29pp for three. Dinner is £49pp for three courses. You can have a look at their extensive selection right here.
