Three amazing activities to do during Christmas in Edinburgh.

Christmas in Edinburgh, it is truly magical.

Ah, the festive season. A period where we let our hair down, indulge a little more than usual and see all our nearest and dearest. It is truly a magical time of the year, and it is never too early to think about your Christmas parties, get-togethers, and catch-ups with friends.

Christmas in Edinburgh is nothing short of magical. The lights, the music, the Christmas markets, the atmosphere. It's enough to make you all warm and fuzzy inside. The city truly sparkles during the festive season, with the centre coming alive with many incredible activities to entertain you and yours.

With this being our first Christmas in Edinburgh, you can understand that we are super excited and cannot wait to spend the festive season in this magical city.

Let's look at some of the great activities you can get up to when visiting Edinburgh during Christmas.

Edinburgh's Christmas

You couldn't visit Edinburgh at Christmas without seeing the world-famous festival of all things festive. Running from the 19th of November until the 3rd of January, you'll be spoiled for choice with activities, shopping, food, and drinks (don't fill up too much, though, wait 'til activity number three!)

Featuring the renowned Christmas market, the funfair and even an ice rink, you and the family will be spoiled for choice.

Christmas Lights Switch On

It will be Christmas, after all, in Edinburgh, and you cannot get any more festive than the switching on of all those dazzling green, red and golden lights. Enough to get even the biggest Scrooge in the spirit of Christmas.

Festive Dining at Dulse

It wouldn't be Christmas without a little Dean Banks pizzazz, and Dulse will be perfect for getting you in the mood for the festivities.

We will showcase some incredible festive treats this December with delicious drinks and food menus.

Reservations are now open. We are catering to all your Christmas meet-ups, large or small. Climb the 'Stairway to Heaven' and enjoy our generous upstairs dining area with a larger party of friends. Or, downstairs, you can enjoy a more intimate meet-up over some small plates, wine, and cocktails brought to you by the Dulse team.

We will be open throughout December with our regular trading hours, so you can be sure to enjoy that quality time with your nearest and dearest.

Here, we're doing things a little differently from most restaurants with our festive menu. While we will offer three (or four) course dining experiences exclusively for Christmas parties and such, there will not be a turkey in sight. We feel that when people go out around the festive season, they are continually bombarded with the same dishes, which are sometimes a little sub-par.

At Dulse, we will offer the best of what we do—bringing you seasonal seafood dishes, done right.

Indulge in some of our classics like trout pastrami with Katy Rodgers crème fraiche, Singapore-style mussels, the Dulse fish pie, or roast hake with braised fennel. To finish, we have our renowned chocolate pave, clava brie with warm honey madeline, or plum crumble with Nana's custard.

We want Christmas to be as uncomplicated and delicious as our dishes, and you will find this at Dulse.

Let the team take care of your festive celebrations. Our skilled bookings team can assist with any booking, large or small, to ensure that you and your family, friends or colleagues have the best time this December.

Are you interested in booking or looking at our menus in more detail? You can head on over to our festive reservations page right here.

From Dean and the Dulse team, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas period and cannot wait to welcome you through our doors.
